Hidden Canyon in Zion National Park [March 25, 2014]

Advertisement: There are almost no views to be had on this hike but it's a buttload of fun. You basically walk, scramble, climb and boulder up a narrow canyon. At the end of the canyon is a class 5 wall climb which is either your turn-back point or time to get out your ropes (or not?).

The narrow slot canyon presents many obstacles

Difficulty: 8 miles, 1000 feet round trip, approximately

Preparation: None.  Note that when most people write about this trail, they consider the end of the trail to be the arch.  In my opinion the trail before the arch is not the fun part -- the fun part is trying to go as far as you can afterwards.  Know your own skills and limitations in rock climbing though.

Summary: Fun hike, no views. But fun is more important than views!  4/5
