Advertisement: A short and easy half-day snowshoe hike by a lake.
More photographs.
Difficulty: 3 miles, flat trail.
Preparation: Bring snowshoes. The route is sandwiched between Donner Lake and Schallenberger Ridge, “ending” once the slopes of the ridge meets the lake (though you can keep going). The criss-crossing snowshoe tracks are manifold and it’s hard to really follow a “trail” strictly speaking; the area is not that large and tends to be busy so it’s hard to get lost and someone can always point you in the right direction.
Summary: A nice leisurely hike if you are too tired from the previous day to do anything serious. 2/5
