Highline Trail in Glacier National Park [August 8, 2017]

Advertisement: This trail walks along many of the scenes you see from the road west of Logan Pass. The scenic highlight is a view of Grinnell Glacier from above.

Difficulty: 12 miles, 1600 feet elevation gain; includes Grinnell Glacier overlook. Another excursion to Swiftcurrent Mountain is possible, but we did not take it.

Preparation: Hike from Logan Pass to "The Loop" (refers to a sharp switchback in the road) for a net downhill. Bring lots of water on a sunny day.

Summary: Though the views similar to those from the road, it's nice to have the luxury to take one's time. The Grinnell Glacier overlook is worth it. 4/5
