Advertisement: Camp by some high lakes surrounded by peaks remnant of the old Tehama volcano.
More photographs.
Difficulty: Variable. The approach to Ridge Lakes gains 1000 ft over a mile from the Sulphur Works parking lot (open later in the season). If parking at the visitor's center, add 500 ft and a mile. A lot of exposed rock on Diller late season but it's class 3 and can be climbed (we did not). Alternative is to go the other way and snowshoe around the ridges surrounding the lakes.
Preparation: Standard snow camping gear, and snowshoes.
Summary: A really fun relaxing spring overnighter in Lassen.
