Advertisement: An out-and-back trail traversing the crest of Tilden Park.
Views of San Francisco, Richmond, Mt. Diablo, and the San Pablo Bay.
More photographs.
Difficulty: 9 miles, 1300 feet of elevation
Preparation: The out-and-back trail starts at the Lone Oak picnic area. Pick up a map at the trailhead. Take Meadows Canyon Trail up to the crest and then Seaview Trail until the end. At the end of the trail is a parking lot and the steam trains, where you can buy a ticket to ride a steam train in a little loop (seems popular with children).
Summary: A nice hike to do if you live in the East Bay. 3/5
