Difficulty: 14 miles, 1700 feet of elevation

Preparation: None, other than usual camping. Water is plentiful at the lake. Camp anywhere by the lake. Bear canisters required.  You can either drop your packs at the bottom of the cinder cone and go back down for them, hiking around the cinder cone; or, you can take your packs up the cinder cone and go down the other side.

Summary: Snag Lake is a nice place to camp, and the cinder cone is pretty cool (though you can also do it as a day hike). 4/5
