Advertisement: One of the most famous national parks in China featuring rock pillar formations; Avatar was filmed here.

Difficulty: Variable. You can avoid walking altogether if you take the buses and cable cars. Very tourist friendly.
Preparation: None. Find a way to book a homestay with a local; you will save money. This is my personal preference, but don't let yourself get pressured into joining a tour group. The tour groups hurry you around and try to pack in as many "sights" as possible (they will advertise that they can get you to see 99% of the famed sights), but in my opinion the rock pillars don't look all that different, and you'll have a better time if you just stroll around on your own schedule. Maps are sold at the entrance.
Also, prepare yourself for a McDonald's at the top of one of the mountains.
Summary: Not a very varied park, but the pillars are pretty cool looking. There aren't a ton of options for hiking, at least when I went, making it feel like more of a tourist attraction. There will be a lot of people.4/5
